The Between Cultures Foundation, thanks to financing from the City of Krakow, is implementing the project “Kraków Connects – culture, conversation and community”.

The project is a series of three events supporting the integration of people with migration and refugee experience and Krakow residents through learning Polish and discovering the multicultural heritage of the city.
Through games, joint walks and language workshops, we want to create a space for natural, free learning of language and culture, building relationships and mutual understanding.
The project is aimed mainly at migrant, refugee and Polish families. Our goal is not only to develop language skills, but also to create a supportive community that respects diversity.
All activities will be conducted in Polish, with the possibility of support in English, Ukrainian and Russian, so that each participant can feel comfortable.
Event 1: From Simple to Fluent: Polish Sentence Building Workshop, February 18, in cooperation with Multicultural Centre in Kraków and Marta Burza, teacher of Polish as a foreign language.
This intensive Polish workshop was designed to help you gain fluency and build longer, more complex sentences in a simple and natural way — using key words, ready-to-use structures, and patterns that work from basic level up to B2.
Led by Marta, an experienced teacher of Polish as a foreign language, this session combines neuroscience-based learning principles with creativity, play, and teamwork. Marta prepares and curates all materials herself, ensuring that every minute of the workshop is engaging, relevant, and meaningful.
Event 2: Cross-cultural coffee talks FOR EVERYONE INTERESTED IN INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE, February 21, starting 10:30
(Languages: mainly English with help with Polish and Russian)
This friendly meetup is designed to build relationships, mutual understanding, and intercultural dialogue between people with migration experience and residents of Krakow. Participants gather in small, mixed groups for moderated conversations over coffee and tea, changing tables and discussion topics throughout the evening. The event does not require advanced knowledge of Polish — the emphasis is on communication, listening, and sharing experiences without judgment or pressure for linguistic correctness.
Moderation ensures a safe and inclusive space where everyone can have their voice heard. The event is aimed to help break language and social barriers, strengthen participants’ sense of belonging, and foster connections with others.
