Let’s learn Polish together
The Between Cultures Foundation, thanks to financing from the City of Krakow, is implementing the project “Krakow na językach – Let’s learn Polish and get to know Krakow!”.

The project is a series of three events supporting the integration of people with migration and refugee experience and Krakow residents through learning Polish and discovering the multicultural heritage of the city.
Through games, joint walks and language workshops, we want to create a space for natural, free learning of language and culture, building relationships and mutual understanding.
The project is aimed mainly at migrant, refugee and Polish families. Our goal is not only to develop language skills, but also to create a supportive community that respects diversity.
All activities will be conducted in Polish, with the possibility of support in English, Ukrainian and Russian, so that each participant can feel comfortable.
Event 1: Polish in Action – Language Stations, May 20, in cooperation with Multicultural Centre in Kraków and Marta Burza, teacher of Polish as a foreign language.
This event is an interactive language workshop, which allowed practical practice of Polish in everyday situations. Thematic stations were prepared in the room (e.g. ordering coffee, asking for directions, small talk), where participants were able to practice short dialogues and learn authentic phrases and slang.
Workshops in a relaxed, humorous atmosphere allowed everyone to break language barriers and make everyday functioning in Krakow easier. After the workshops, participants were invited for refreshments and integration talks.
Event 2: Integration evening with board games – May 29 in cooperation with Multicultural Centre in Kraków and Marta Burza, teacher of Polish as a foreign language.
This meeting is an evening full of our original board games, prepared especially for integration and language learning. During the workshops, participants learn about the history, legends and multicultural heritage of Krakow in an accessible and engaging way.
Thanks to the principles based on neuroscience, learning is natural and enjoyable. Joint competition and cooperation facilitates building relationships.
After the workshops, refreshments and time for free integration took place.
The workshops was be led by a Polish as a foreign language teacher with many years of experience, supported by a facilitator-translator.
⏰ Duration: 2 hours of workshops
Event 3: CRIMES IN KRAKÓW – Short guided walk and integration meeting, June 8.
We will start with a one-hour walk (10:00–11:00) through the Old Town. The walk will be led by Ewelina Laprus, an official Kraków guide with years of experience in uncovering the city’s fascinating and hidden stories. We will explore some of the lesser-known, darker sides of Kraków’s past. The guided walk will cover intriguing topics such as:
- Prostitution in medieval Kraków
- The shocking story of a local cannibal
- Strange healing potions and medieval medicine
- Public executions and punishments in the city
After the walk, we’ll gather at Familia Bistro, a new Brazilian restaurant in the city center run by Alan da Silva Morais, for a warm integration meeting over delicious local food. This will be a great opportunity to relax, talk, and get to know each other better in a casual, friendly atmosphere.
